Sexual rights are human rights!! It is a common misconception that people with disability are not sexual beings and do not need sexual education or inclusion - but the reality is that people with disability are just as sexual as everyone else. With as much variance as you can find in the general community. In this video, Mel breaks down what some of those misconceptions are and what the truth is. For more information about supporting the social and sexual safety of people with disability, visit our website for lots of free resources! SaferMeSaferYou.org.au Link in bio. a blue tile with two darker blue corners. In the center of the tile is the title cover of the Guidelines document. Above the document are the words "National Guidelines". It also says, "new free resource. Co-designed with the disability community!" The Safer Me Safer You logo is in the bottom left hand corner.

Our new National Guidelines are ready for you to use!! We all know that safety is important to everyone. Everyone has a right to be socially and sexually safe always and everywhere. Safety means different things to different people. However, we all share responsibility for keeping each other safe. Workplaces and workers have a responsibility to create environments that increase social and sexual safety for people with disability. An important way to do this is to increase awareness and understanding of, and adopt consistent approaches to, improving social and sexual safety. The Guidelines give everyone a way to think about what is already in place to create social and sexual safety and what can be done to make all workplaces safer. Want more information? Go to our the Guidelines page on our website for a video explainer, the pdf Guidelines document and more! #Disability #NothingAboutUsWithoutYou #Safety #FreeResource #LearningTogether Image description: tile 1- a blue tile with two darker blue corners.
